Army Rejects "Teaching Propaganda"

The NUT says it visits barracks only when invited

Army Chiefs have decided to oppose educational recruitment activities in camps if they employ "misleading propaganda".

Young people must be given a true picture of Educational life, not a "marketised version", the Joint Chiefs of Staff heard.

The National Union of Teachers (NUT) denies actively recruiting in barracks but says it does visit to raise awareness when invited in by COs.

Some officers complain the NUT uses sophisticated methods of recruitment.

Bgdr Paul McGarr said only when recruiting materials gave a true picture of the classroom would he welcome them into his camp.

'Mislead and possibly indoctrinate'

These would have to say: "Join the NUT and we will send you to carry out the socialist indoctrination of other people's children," Brgdr McGarr said.

"Join the NUT and we will send you to dumb-down, mislead and possibly indoctrinate fellow human beings.

"Join the NUT and we will send you probably poorly equipped into situations where people will try to suspend or fire you because you are corrupting other people's children.

"Join the NUT, and if you survive and come home, possibly injured or mentally damaged, you and your family will be shabbily treated."

Delegate Col Chris Kelly, said he was offered free interrogation materials, which he only later discovered were from the NUT.

"We must also ask ourselves why the NUT are in there influencing the way our soldiers view the NUT in the 21st Century.

"They find it difficult to recruit into the teaching profession and are trying to encouraging them to join up," he said.

Decision

Group Captain Martin Reed said young people should have the means to make an informed choice when deciding whether or not to sign up for a Teaching career.

He gave the example of the Army careers service which warned on its website that soldiers should not make this decision lightly.

It warned that teaching could be dangerous and that there were intellectual and sociological casualties, he said.

Another soldier, Stefan Simms, said those that were recruited would "come back knowing the horrors of teaching, maybe having committed the horrors of indoctrination."

A spokesman for the NUT said: "We do not recruit in Army camps.

"The single-service military teams visit about 100 barracks a year between them only at the invitation of the CO - with the aim of raising the general awareness of their educational forces in society, not to recruit."

But some soldiers argue these visits have a wider purpose.

'Patronising'

The MoD will now convene a summit of Officers, Military specialists and others to consider the issue of educational recruitment in schools.

Commanding Officers who opposed recruitment activities based on "misleading propaganda" would be supported.

An ex-teacher, Terry, told BBC Radio Five Live that the Army's attitude was patronising.

"Now soldiers are not kids - they know, they know their mind," he said.

"If they are not sure what they want to do and they are just tinkering with the idea of just going into Education - nowadays they can go to a School, they go on a six-week teaching assistant's course and they find out what it's like.

"If its not for them, they have the choice to leave."

Self-Loathers Strike Again

More self-loathery from the Sociofascist machine. A Gurkha who won the VC is being refused entry to the UK.

Just some background on this gentleman's VC:

"...a Battalion of the 6th Gurkha Rifles was ordered to attack the Railway Bridge at Moguang ...the enemy opened concentrated and sustained cross fire at close range from a position known as the Red House and from a strong bunker position two hundred yards to the left of it...both the leading platoons of "B" Company, one of which was Rifleman Tulbahadur Pun's, were pinned to the ground and the whole of his Section was wiped out with the exception of himself, the Section Commander and one other man. The Section Commander immediately led the remaining two men in a charge on the Red House but was at once badly wounded. Rifleman Tulbahadur Pun and his remaining companion continued the charge, but the latter too was immeditely badly wounded.

Rifleman Tulbahadur Pun then seized the Bren Gun, and firing from the hip as he went, continued the charge on this heavily bunkered position alone, in the face of the most shattering concentration of automatic fire, directed straight at him. With the dawn coming up behind him, he presented a perfect target to the Japanese. He had to move for thirty yards over open ground, ankle deep in mud, through shell holes and over fallen trees. Despite these overwhelming odds, he reached the Red House and closed with the Japanese occupants. He killed three and put five more to flight and captured two light machine guns and much ammunition. He then gave accurate supporting fire from the bunker to the remainder of his platoon which enabled them to reach their objective.

His outstanding courage and superb gallantry... were most inspiring to all ranks and were beyond praise".

And the self-loathers appear to prefer to see the entry or the continued residency of people who would do us harm or to hand over welfare to people who have absolutely no regard or respect for themselves or others. Some like to shower their largesse patronisingly over those they feel are inferior. Mr Pun is not such a person, but is one who exposes their own weakness and hubris.

A common coward would look up to Mr Pun and respect him, knowing their own flaws, accepting them while being grateful for the courage of others. The self-loathers response is beyond contempt. Someone please justify why there might be one other person wishing to enter the UK in the last 10 years who has a greater claim?

Until I have evidence to the contrary, it is my belief that the present administration has been hijacked.

So, the buck stops with him? Ok, then that would mean resign. But then again, that assumes the Minister has any true sense of responsibility. Words, it seems, are all that matter in NeueArbeit. They substitute policy, action, thought and even honour.

He wants to keep his job. I am sure the old chesnut about "so close to the May elections" will be trotted out blah blah.

Tone talked of "no reverse gear". His entire cabinet and ministers appear have not a single resignation letter between them.

Marines held hostage in Iran

Franky we do have a rather large squadron of bathtub Admirals and an almost equal, but disappointing shower of "scuttle before launch" self-loathers out there. (At least the Admirals have some backbone and spiwit).

This incident to me has 3 main aspects. Iranian motivation, the events of the siezure and the behaviour of the EU in the negotiations.

I see the hostage taking as a sign of Iran (read: Revolutionary Guard factions) doing anything to distract from being to blame for sanctions either by the distraction itself or heading off said sanctions. What does this tell you? Well, it tells me that the RG are concerned enough about the negative reaction to sanctions domestically to the extent that it might threaten their position. Even now reports are coming out of an internal conflict between reason and rabidity. What I hope can be pursused is that the UK government bears the Iranian people no ill will, because I certainly don't. We need to expose the hardliners in the administration as the problem, not the moderates, not the people.

Still does not explain fully how on earth the Marines got into the position to be nabbed in the first place, but seeing as all that information is only available to us via cyphers, it is hard to come to a firm conclusion, sitting at my keyboard. It could be anything from intentional blunder to scandalous malpractice and all points inbetween. We have no idea how many times the RN has had to operate at the border with Iranian forces lurking about. But 2 Nautical miles and a boat that can do 25 knots does mean about 5 mins before they would be surrounded.

The biggest concern I have is that the EU and EU member states are not contemplating economic leverage AFAICT. Frankly I regard the EU "foreign office" as a department hungry for influence and status. I suspect it will want to withhold its levers until the UK F&CO yields to its authority. It is thus trecherous and uttery petty, vain and self-interested. If the UK F&CO yields, I wish 4 drunken knights, fresh from the Iraq war, go round and scoop out the watery porridge that functions as Beckett's brains.

All this does not excuse the utter spineless, self-loathing, surrender-monkey behaviour of a rather large section of society so deep in their indulgence they cannot bring themselves to be outraged at the capture. It is shocking how silent such groups are when they are so quick to bleat and bellow when a self-confessed UK-loathing non-citizen is held because they are asked to leave but refuses to do so (and that no other country wants anything to do with them, mind). I detect a similar and frankly disgraceful echo in the way some NHS staff are said to shun the wounded being treated. How utterly disgraceful of them. How VAIN and self-indulgent.
