More Collective Punishment planned.

Yep, drinkers.

As with the general disorder issues, we have existing laws to deal with such things. We do not need new legislation and certainly not an increase in taxation.

We don’t need it, but the government does.

They talk up binge drinking by defining virtually everyone over the age of 17 as a binge drinker, certainly almost anyone who has ever had some wine with a meal.

Then they claim it is a problem. They will need to use the terrible cost to society and the NHS to justify the taxes.

As for existing laws. Nu-Lab have done nothing but fail to enforce perfectly adequate existing laws and then legislate new laws to do the same thing. Or come up with new variations of old laws :-) like making a new offence of murdering someone on a Tuesday whilst wearing a woolly jumper, when murder always was an offence anyway.
